Paintswap began as a humble NFT marketplace on Fantom in 2021 and has since grown into one of the most dynamic ecosystems in Web3—spanning NFTs, DeFi, gaming, and on-chain infrastructure. What started with simple NFT trading quickly evolved through rapid iteration: upgraded interfaces, FTM and $BRUSH support, peer-to-peer swaps, and dark mode helped establish Paintswap as the go-to NFT platform on Fantom. By the end of 2021, Paintswap launched its first NFT collection—Beardies—offering fee-sharing rewards to holders and reinforcing community ownership. This was followed by creative airdrops and one of the most active creator and collector communities in the network. 2022 brought a full V3 marketplace overhaul with trait filtering, advanced analytics, and a smoother UX. While Paintswap sunset its DEX, it deepened DeFi integration by partnering with leading liquidity protocols and building staking and fee buyback mechanisms around $BRUSH. The focus sharpened around NFT utility and infrastructure, laying the groundwork for broader ambitions. In 2023, Paintswap unveiled Estfor Kingdom, a fully on-chain idle RPG that won first place at a Fantom hackathon. This marked its entry into blockchain gaming. Alongside this, the NFT Launchpad was introduced, making it easy for creators to mint and launch collections. As the Fantom network evolved into Sonic, Paintswap migrated without issue and retained its status as Sonic’s premier NFT marketplace and launchpad. Now, Paintswap is entering a new era. In progress are: Paintswap VRF, a public randomness oracle NFT Lending, enabling loans against veNFTs psUSD, a native stablecoin for the ecosystem Airdrop Marketplace, to trade newly distributed tokens PAIGE, an AI-driven game economy framework From marketplace to metagame, Paintswap continues to build for creators, gamers, and developers across the Sonic ecosystem—with more still to come.
